Bio: Ron and Sandy Hillman "CARAVAN"
Ron and Sandy met in Hawaii, where Ron was stationed in the Navy. Sandy had just graduated from the University of Oklahoma, and was on her first job, as a 4th grade school teacher. Soon after Ron got out of the service, they moved to San Francisco, got married, and in 1976, moved to Hollywood. Sandy bought herself a set of drums, started taking drum lessons, and they were soon working at the Cal Neva Casino in Lake Tahoe. After this, these two spent 20 years on the road with the Box Tops, backing up groups like "The Drifters", "Platters", "Shirelles", and "Coasters". they had three sons, Karmann, Roscoe, and Marty. While Sandy and Ron were on the road, Sandy's parents stepped in and helped with homework and piano lessons. The music lessons paid off. Karmann, after graduating from college, is working for the Royal Carribean Cruise Line, playing piano on the ship, it steams the high seas, all over the world. Roscoe (tenor, saxophone) and Marty (bass guitar, and piano) are still in college, and working in the Family Band "Caravan". This group is a must see for it's mixture of fine musicianship, energy, wit, and charm.
